“So those who rely on faith are blessed along with Abraham, the man of faith.”
Galatians 3:9
Believe in Christ, and you become a spiritual descendant of Abraham, inheriting the same incredible blessings he received through faith.
James Dunn was a highly influential British New Testament scholar. His groundbreaking Christianity in the Making trilogy, especially Jesus Remembered, illuminated Jesus' life and ministry with fresh eyes. He showed us how oral traditions and their historical context are crucial to understanding the Gospels. A champion of the "New Perspective on Paul," he helped us see Paul's theology within its rich first-century Jewish context, revealing salvation not as a checklist of rules, but as a vibrant journey of faith. His work beautifully connects early Christians to Abraham's legacy, showing how faith is not just the path to salvation, but the very channel of God's abundant blessings. Although he passed on June 26, 2020, at the age of 80, his enduring legacy reminds us that understanding our spiritual heritage deepens our faith, enriching our present and guiding us toward a future overflowing with grace.
Galatians 3:9 offers a powerful invitation - rest in your faith, not in your works. God's boundless blessing is freely given to all who believe, uniting us as equals in Christ, not through our efforts but through the embrace of His grace.
