Fleeing Temptation: Choosing Faithfulness
“God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.”
1 Corinthians 10:13
Recently, I received several inappropriate messages inviting me into private conversations. Although unexpected, they reminded me that temptation can arise at any time, often through seemingly harmless encounters.
Rather than keeping the matter to myself, I chose to share it openly with my wife. She responded with grace, understanding, and godly wisdom. Together, we agreed that the wisest response was to end the conversations, block the contacts, and remain accountable to one another.
This experience reminded me of an important spiritual truth: Temptation gains strength in secrecy, but loses its power when brought into the light.
1 Corinthians 10:13 assures us that God is faithful. He does not promise a life without temptation, but He provides the grace and wisdom to resist it. Sometimes, His way of escape is surprisingly practical—walking away, closing a conversation, setting firm boundaries, or seeking counsel from someone we trust.
Faithfulness in marriage is more than avoiding adultery. It is a daily commitment to guard our hearts, honour our spouse, and protect the sacred covenant God has entrusted to us.
We must never become overconfident in our spiritual strength. Even mature believers remain vulnerable when they neglect prayer, accountability, and godly boundaries.
Fleeing temptation is not cowardice; it is spiritual wisdom. True courage is choosing obedience before compromise takes root.
May we remain watchful, humble, and faithful, remembering that God’s grace is sufficient to help us overcome temptation.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, guard my heart against temptation. Give me wisdom to recognise danger, courage to flee from compromise, and humility to remain accountable. Strengthen my marriage and help me honour You in every thought, word, and action. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Facing Giants with Faith and Courage
“You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty.”
1 Samuel 17:45
Yesterday, in my meeting room, I listened as Charlie shared with Pastor Moses Chang the challenges he faces as a small manufacturer of food-processing machinery. With limited resources, he is competing against a much larger company from China with greater financial strength and market influence.
As I listened, I was reminded of the biblical account of David and Goliath.
David faced a giant who appeared impossible to defeat. Yet his confidence rested not in his own strength, but in the Lord Almighty. Instead of relying on conventional weapons, David used the skills and resources God had already placed in his hands.
Small businesses may lack the financial strength and resources of larger competitors, but they possess valuable advantages—specialised expertise, flexibility, innovation, personal service, and trusted customer relationships.
Trusting God does not replace careful planning, wise stewardship, hard work, or sound judgment. Rather, faith strengthens us to fulfil our responsibilities faithfully while entrusting the outcome to His sovereign hands.
Sometimes, God allows giants into our lives not to defeat us, but to deepen our dependence on Him and strengthen our character.
Whatever giant we face—whether in business, ministry, family, or personal struggles—we must remember that our limitations do not limit God’s power and wisdom.
The size of our challenges does not determine our future. What matters is the greatness of the God we trust and our faithfulness in using what He has entrusted to us.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, when challenges seem greater than our strength and resources, grant us wisdom to make sound decisions, courage to persevere, and faith to trust Your guidance. Help us remain faithful in all we do and surrender the outcome to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

True Repentance Begins with Honesty and Humility
“Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper, but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy.”
Proverbs 28:13
Last night, a close friend who serves as a church elder called seeking my counsel. His wife had discovered his extramarital affair and was considering divorce. He asked whether he should still serve Holy Communion this coming Sunday.
I gently reminded him that his immediate concern should not be preserving his ministry position, but confronting his sin with honesty, humility, and genuine repentance.
I encouraged him to confess openly to his pastor and church leaders, accept accountability, and voluntarily step aside from serving Communion while receiving pastoral guidance.
Proverbs 28:13 reminds us that concealing sin leads to spiritual destruction, while confession and turning away from wrongdoing open the door to God’s mercy.
True repentance is more than regret or fear of consequences. It requires taking full responsibility, ending sinful behaviour, seeking appropriate help, and demonstrating lasting transformation.
For spiritual leaders, integrity matters more than position. When trust is broken, restoration begins not with defending one’s reputation, but with acknowledging wrongdoing and submitting to godly correction.
I also reminded him that his wife had suffered a painful betrayal. She deserves compassion, time to heal, and freedom to make her own decisions without pressure. Forgiveness cannot be demanded, nor can reconciliation be rushed.
God’s grace offers forgiveness and hope, but it does not remove the consequences of sin.
True repentance is measured not by how quickly we regain our position, but by how faithfully we turn back to God.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, grant us humble hearts to confess our sins, courage to accept correction, and grace to walk in righteousness. Bring healing to those wounded by betrayal. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

True Prosperity Comes from the Lord
“The blessing of the Lord makes rich, and he adds no sorrow with it.”
Proverbs 10:22
Yesterday, I enjoyed a wonderful lunch with a dear friend whose life reminded me of this beautiful truth. Despite his remarkable success, what touched me most was his faithfulness, gratitude, and the peace with which he carries God’s blessings.
The world often measures prosperity by wealth, possessions, and achievements. Yet true prosperity is not merely about what we possess, but about the richness of God’s presence, wisdom, provision, and peace in our lives.
Proverbs 10:22 reminds us that lasting blessings come from the Lord. His blessings do not require us to compromise our integrity or sacrifice our peace. Though life’s challenges remain, His goodness and faithfulness never fail.
God blesses us not simply to enrich our lives, but to make us a blessing to others. When we recognise Him as our source, we learn to receive with gratitude, live with humility, and give with generosity.
May we always seek the Giver above His gifts, trusting Him to guide our steps and bless the work of our hands.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your abundant blessings. Teach us to trust Your provision, walk in humility, work with integrity, and give generously. May true prosperity in our lives always reflect Your grace, goodness, and peace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Serving God’s Church Together
“Where there is no guidance, a people falls, but in an abundance of counsellors there is safety.”Proverbs 11:14
Yesterday, I had the privilege of preaching at Hosanna 153 Church and praying for four newly appointed church council members. Having known them since the church was established in 2018, it was especially meaningful to witness their willingness to embrace this sacred responsibility.
The occasion reminded me that the spiritual health of a church depends not only on sound biblical preaching and effective ministries, but also on the character, wisdom, and faithfulness of its leaders.
Proverbs 11:14 highlights the importance of godly counsel. No pastor is called to carry the burdens of ministry alone. God raises up faithful men and women to serve alongside their pastor, share responsibilities, and prayerfully discern His direction together.
Serving on a church council is more than holding a position; it is a sacred trust and a calling to servant leadership. It requires spiritual maturity, humility, integrity, and a genuine love for Christ and His Church.
Faithful council members support their pastor, uphold biblical principles, and safeguard the spiritual well-being of the congregation. Healthy leadership thrives through mutual trust, honest communication, and shared submission to Christ. It requires speaking the truth in love, listening with humility, and pursuing unity without compromising biblical convictions.
May these four council members serve with wisdom, courage, and humility, strengthening their pastor and congregation as Hosanna 153 Church grows in faithfulness to God’s Word.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, grant these council members wisdom, humility, courage, and discernment. Help them serve alongside their pastor in love and unity, always seeking Your will. May their leadership strengthen Your Church and glorify Christ. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

“For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows favour and honour; no good thing does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless.”Psalm 84:11
Yesterday, I had the privilege of being invited by dear Christian friends from Singapore to dedicate their new office and central kitchen at Hicom Glenmarie Industrial Park. The occasion concluded with a wonderful dinner graciously hosted by Andy and Christine.
Andy and Christine are the visionary founders of AC Hesed Group in Malaysia, the exclusive distributors of well-known brands such as Ben’s Cookies, 108 Matcha Saro, and Cinnabon. Established in November 2023, following the challenges of the pandemic, their business has experienced remarkable growth, expanding to 20 outlets in just over a year.
Their journey is an encouraging testimony of faith, perseverance, and God’s providence. Their aspiration is to be “the head and not the tail” (Deuteronomy 28:13), faithfully stewarding the opportunities and responsibilities God entrusts to them in the marketplace.
During the dedication, Rev Dr Judah Daniel Choo led us in a meaningful time of prophetic prayer dedications, committing the business and its future into God’s hands. It was a powerful reminder that while human wisdom, careful planning, and diligent effort are essential, our ultimate confidence must rest in the Lord.
Psalm 84:11 beautifully describes God as both our sun and shield. As our sun, He provides light, direction, and strength for the journey ahead. As our shield, He protects and sustains us through life’s uncertainties and challenges.
In the pursuit of business growth, we can easily become preoccupied with expansion plans, financial projections, marketing strategies, and operational demands. Yet Scripture reminds us that lasting success is not measured merely by profits or the number of outlets, but by our faithfulness to God and the purpose for which He has entrusted us with resources.
God’s favour is not a guarantee of uninterrupted prosperity or freedom from difficulties. Rather, it is the assurance of His gracious presence, wisdom, and sustaining strength as we walk faithfully with Him.
The promise that God withholds no good thing from those who walk uprightly does not mean that He grants every desire. It reminds us that our loving Father knows what is truly good for us and provides according to His perfect wisdom and timing.
True success is not simply how far we go in business, but how faithfully we walk with God along the way.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your faithfulness in the lives of Andy and Christine and for the opportunities You have entrusted to them. Grant them wisdom in every decision, humility in success, courage in challenges, and integrity in all their dealings. May Your favour guide their steps and Your protection surround their business. Let their growth bring blessings to many and become a testimony of Your goodness and grace. May everything they accomplish bring glory to Your name. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

“How lovely is your dwelling place, Lord Almighty!”
Psalm 84:1
Yesterday, I received a WhatsApp message from close friends who are currently enjoying their second world cruise. To my surprise, they shared that they had decided to cut their journey short because of an overwhelming sense of homesickness.
Despite the breathtaking destinations, unforgettable experiences, and excitement of travelling around the world, their hearts longed for home. Their decision reminded me of a simple yet profound truth: No matter how far we travel or how much we experience, there is still no place like home.
Homesickness is more than missing familiar surroundings. It reflects our deeper longing for belonging, security, love, and peace. Home is where we feel accepted, understood, and loved.
As I reflected on their experience, Psalm 84:1 came to mind: “How lovely is your dwelling place, Lord Almighty!”
The psalmist expresses a longing that goes beyond earthly comfort. It is the soul’s yearning for the presence of God, where true peace, joy, and security are found.
Our earthly homes, however precious, are temporary. Even the most beautiful places cannot fully satisfy the deepest desires of our hearts. We were created not merely to enjoy this world, but to live in fellowship with our Creator.
Jesus assures us in John 14:2 that His Father’s house has many rooms and that He is preparing a place for us. What a wonderful promise! Our ultimate home is not found in any earthly destination, but in the eternal presence of our Heavenly Father.
Until that glorious homecoming, we can experience His comforting presence wherever life takes us.
The greatest journey in life is not travelling around the world, but finding our way home to God.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for being our refuge and our eternal home. When our hearts grow restless, remind us that true peace is found in Your presence. Help us live each day with the joyful assurance that we belong to You, both now and forever. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

“Do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived.”
1 Corinthians 6:9
Last night, Noel Tang shared an insightful and timely message during Family First Malaysia’s Zoominar, entitled “Don’t Get Scammed: Outsmarting AI-Powered Fraud.”
His presentation highlighted a growing concern in our digital world. While AI has brought remarkable benefits, it has also enabled scammers to create convincing fake voices, messages, and impersonations that can deceive even the most cautious individuals.
As I reflected on his message, I was reminded of Paul’s warning in 1 Corinthians 6:9–10 against unrighteousness, including theft, greed, and swindling. Although the methods of deception have changed dramatically, the sinful motives behind them remain the same: dishonesty, greed, and the desire to profit at another person’s expense.
Technology itself is morally neutral. What matters is the heart and intention of the person using it. The same AI that can improve lives can also become a powerful instrument of deception when placed in dishonest hands.
Yet this message challenges us to look beyond protecting ourselves from scams. As followers of Christ, we are called not only to recognise deception but also to reject dishonesty in our own lives.
In a world where seeing and hearing no longer guarantee authenticity, we must exercise greater discernment. Before trusting an urgent request or transferring money, we should pause, verify the information, and seek wise counsel. We must also protect the elderly and vulnerable, who may be especially susceptible to sophisticated scams.
Above all, let us remember that integrity is not merely about avoiding wrongdoing; it is about choosing to honour God in everything we do.
Technology will continue to evolve, but God’s truth remains unchanged. May we be wise enough to recognise deception, courageous enough to stand for truth, and faithful enough to reflect Christ’s character in an increasingly digital world. In an age when technology can imitate voices, faces, and messages, may our lives bear an unmistakably genuine witness to the truth of Christ.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, grant us wisdom to discern truth from deception. Protect us and our loved ones from fraud, and guard our hearts against greed and dishonesty. Help us walk in integrity, stand firmly for truth, and reflect Your character in all we do. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Yesterday evening, I returned from Sungai Petani after attending the funeral of Datin Chang, beloved wife of my dear friend, PK Ang. PK and I served together in FGBMFI Malaysia, organising evangelistic dinners that brought the Gospel to thousands.
What touched me deeply was the heartfelt eulogy delivered by their children, revealing how profoundly their parents’ loving marriage had shaped their lives. Despite his demanding business commitments, PK faithfully cared for his wife throughout her battle with cancer. His tender devotion spoke louder than words.
Colossians 3:19 reminds husbands that true love is expressed not merely in words but through patience, gentleness and sacrificial care.
Marriage vows are tested most deeply during life’s storms. When illness brings pain, uncertainty and exhaustion, love becomes a comforting presence, a listening ear and a steady hand that refuses to let go.
Christlike love remains faithful even when circumstances become difficult. It chooses compassion over frustration and tenderness over harshness.
Perhaps the greatest legacy we leave our children is not what we accomplish, but how faithfully we love one another.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, teach us to love our spouses with Christlike tenderness and faithfulness. Strengthen those caring for loved ones through illness, comfort those who grieve, and may our marriages reflect Your enduring love and grace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

DAILY REFLECTION

“Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.”
Ephesians 4:29
Words are powerful. They can heal or wound, encourage or discourage, build bridges or create distance. Sometimes, a careless remark spoken in frustration can leave a wound that takes days, or even years, to heal.
Looking back on our marriage, I recognise that there were moments when I could have spoken more gently, listened more patiently, and responded with greater understanding. I have learned that winning an argument is far less important than preserving the peace and unity of our marriage.
Ephesians 4:29 reminds us that our words should build others up according to their needs. This means speaking not merely to express our feelings, but also to consider how our words will affect the person we love.
In marriage, communication is more than talking. It involves listening attentively, understanding our spouse’s feelings, and sometimes choosing silence rather than speaking in anger. A gentle response can calm a tense situation, while a sincere apology can restore a wounded relationship.
Over the years, I have discovered that three simple expressions can make a tremendous difference: “Thank you,” “I am sorry,” and “I love you.” Yet these words must come from a sincere heart and be supported by our actions.
No marriage is free from misunderstandings or disagreements. However, when both husband and wife choose humility over pride, forgiveness over resentment, and encouragement over criticism, love continues to grow and mature.
After fifty years, I am still learning. Marriage is a lifelong journey in which God continually shapes our character through the person He has placed beside us.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the precious gift of marriage. Forgive me for the times my words have caused hurt rather than healing. Teach me to listen patiently, speak gently, apologise humbly, and encourage generously. May my words reflect Your love and grace, bringing peace, understanding, and lasting unity to our marriage. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
