DAILY REFLECTION

“Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction.”
2 Timothy‬ ‭4‬:‭2‬ ‭

Every believer is called to be a faithful witness of God’s Word - ready to share truth, offer guidance, and embody grace with unwavering endurance.

John MacArthur Jr., a revered American pastor, author, and theologian, exemplified this calling through a lifetime of steadfast ministry. As the longtime pastor of Grace Community Church in Sun Valley, California, and the voice behind the “Grace to You” media ministry, he championed expository preaching and upheld conservative theological convictions with clarity and conviction. His unwavering commitment to biblical teaching - prioritising Scripture above all else,  shaped his ministry and inspired countless others. He courageously addressed difficult topics, corrected error, and offered encouragement, all with patience and careful instruction. His verse-by-verse exposition reflected a deep reverence for God’s Word and a pastoral heart devoted to truth. On 14 July 2025, at the age of 86, he was promoted to glory. His legacy echoes the charge Paul gave to Timothy: to preach the Word in season and out of season, with endurance and integrity. Even amid controversy, MacArthur remained faithful to his calling, leaving behind a testimony marked by conviction, courage, and a relentless pursuit of biblical truth.

2 Timothy 4:2 calls for steadfast discipleship - a life rooted in the Word, ignited by the Spirit, and shaped by unwavering love and truth. It exhorts believers to proclaim God’s truth boldly, speak with wisdom and compassion, and remain faithful in service, whether in season or out of season. It’s a call for every follower of Christ who desires to live with spiritual conviction and enduring grace.

"You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." (John 8:32)
