DAILY REFLECTION

“The righteous will flourish like a palm tree, they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon; planted in the house of the Lord, they will flourish in the courts of our God. They will still bear fruit in old age, they will stay fresh and green,”
Psalms‬ ‭92‬:‭12‬-‭14‬ ‭

In a world where strength often fades with age, the righteous is like trees planted in the house of the Lord, they continue to flourish and bear fruit even in their old age.

Rev. Dr. Stephen Tong is a Chinese-Indonesian Reformed pastor, evangelist, teacher, and musician whose ministry spans over six decades. As the founder of the Reformed Evangelical Church of Indonesia and president of STEMI (Stephen Tong Evangelistic Ministries International), he has preached to more than 37 million people across continents, inspiring over 520,000 to respond to the call of pastoral ministry. Even at age 85, Rev. Tong continues to travel, teach, preach, compose, and lead with unwavering zeal. His architectural vision brought forth the Messiah Cathedral—Southeast Asia’s largest Christian church building and his theological influence has shaped generations of believers. His life is a living testimony to the psalmist’s promise: that those rooted in God will remain spiritually vibrant and fruitful even in their old age.

Psalm 92:12–14 calls believers to live righteously and remain deeply rooted in God, assuring us that a life anchored in Him will never lose its purpose. Even in old age, such a life will overflow with spiritual vitality, bearing lasting fruit that testifies to God’s enduring faithfulness and power.

“Every good tree shall bear fruits in the sacred season.”
