DAILY REFLECTION

“He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.”
Micah‬ ‭6‬:‭8‬ ‭

God's requirement of believers isn't elaborate rituals, but a life transformed by justice, compassion, and humility.

Scott Downman is a journalist and lecturer whose work in Southeast Asia particularly Thailand has become a powerful catalyst for change. With a passion for community development, he harnesses the power of media and storytelling to shed light on pressing social issues and to champion the voices often left unheard. His innovative approach to journalism not only informs but empowers, challenging systems of exploitation and advocating for equitable access to opportunities among ethnic minority communities affected by labor migration. Through deep engagement with local communities, Scott listens, learns, and walks alongside youth and families facing systemic hardship. His collaborations with NGOs and universities underscore a commitment to long-term, sustainable transformation. He is a relentless advocate for justice and a tireless voice for the marginalised. Today, Scott is the Principal and Academic Dean at Trinity College Queensland,  developing new courses to help future pastors minister to culturally diverse communities.

Micah 6:8 transcends time, urging believers to prioritise not outward religious displays, but inward transformation manifested in just, compassionate, and humble action - a timeless call to authentic faith.
