DAILY REFLECTION
“So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.”
Hebrews 10:35-36
God’s promises are not mere words, they are the reward for a life of faithful obedience marked by courageous choices and unwavering trust through trial. It’s a life that clings to love and God’s will, no matter the cost.
Ben (not his real name), a new believer in Afghanistan, encountered this truth in harrowing ways. After joyfully embracing Christ, he was brutally beaten by his family members. Left to die in a hospital, he fled for his life and sought refuge among a small house church in Kabul. For a moment, he found fellowship and hope. But that sanctuary was soon shattered by a Taliban raid. His pastor was murdered before his eyes. Friends were lost. And Ben’s own family, betraying his conversion, handed him over to the very forces that hunted him. What followed was nothing short of a miracle. Through a daring rescue by the nonprofit Shai Fund that meticulously planned his escape, navigating Taliban checkpoints with military precision to get him onto a plane to safety. His journey was marked by unthinkable hardship: physical trauma, betrayal, the grief of loss, and the unrelenting threat of death. Yet his endurance fuelled by faith never wavered. Ben’s story is a living testimony of courage, conviction, and the cost of true discipleship.
Hebrews 10:35–36 reminds us that unwavering faith is not without its trial and purpose. In seasons of hardship, we are called to stand firm, confident that our perseverance is seen by God. The promise He has prepared is not only certain, it’s worth every moment of the wait.
“God rewards those who diligently seek Him”(Hebrews 11:6)
