DAILY REFLECTION
“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.”
Psalms 32:8
God’s guidance is intimate, intentional, and rooted in a loving relationship. He sees our needs, our struggles, our dreams. And in His tender concern, He directs our steps with clarity and care.
One powerful example of this truth is seen in the life of Idris Jala, a distinguished Malaysian technocrat and a devout Christian from the Kelabit tribe. From humble beginnings, he pursued excellence through education at Universiti Sains Malaysia and Warwick University, and served 23 impactful years with Shell, eventually leading as CEO of Shell Middle Distillates in Bintulu and Shell Sri Lanka - turning both operations around through visionary leadership. In 2005, he stepped into the role of CEO at Malaysia Airlines during a time of financial crisis. Through bold reforms and strategic innovation, he steered the airline to record profits within two years, earning the CAPA Airline Turnaround of the Year award in 2006. Later, from 2009 to 2015, he served Malaysia as a Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department and CEO of PEMANDU, catalyzing national transformation through economic and performance reforms. His journey from a marginalized background to a place of national influence is a story of faith, resilience and excellence. It is a testament to the power of walking in divine wisdom and trusting God’s direction through every challenge. His life reflects the beauty of Psalm 32:8.
Psalm 32:8 invites believers to trust in God’s active role in their lives. It assures us that when we seek Him, He will lead us forward with wisdom and love. It encourages a life of dependence on God’s instruction, knowing that His guidance flows from a heart of love, offering us security, direction, and peace on our journey.
“Excellence is not a skill. It is an attitude."
