"Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments."
Deuteronomy 7:9

Lin’s life changed in an instant when her husband died unexpectedly in a tragic accident. Suddenly, she was left to raise two teenage children alone. Grief overwhelmed her, fear clouded the future, and financial pressures added to the weight she was already carrying.

In her darkest moments, Lin wondered whether life was still worth living. Yet one thing kept holding her back—the love she had for her children. Even when hope seemed almost gone, that love became a fragile thread keeping her connected to life.

One morning, crushed by sorrow, Lin walked toward a high-rise building intending to end her life. But along the way, something unexpected happened.

As she passed a narrow alley, she heard a worship song coming from a nearby church. Something about the song touched her wounded heart. Instead of continuing toward the building, she entered the church and quietly sat in the back row.

That morning, Pastor Oh was preaching about the faithfulness of God—the God who does not change, who keeps His promises, and who remains with His children even through life’s darkest valleys.

The message spoke directly into Lin’s despair. When the invitation for prayer was given, she came forward trembling and weeping. She poured out her pain before God and asked Him for strength, peace and a reason to keep going.

But God’s care did not end at the altar. Women from the church surrounded Lin with prayer, encouragement and practical help. They became the hands and feet of God’s faithfulness. Slowly, Lin began rebuilding her life. In time, she opened a small laundry shop—a simple business that became a beautiful symbol of restored hope and dignity.

Lin’s story reminds us of Deuteronomy 7:9: “The LORD your God is God; He is the faithful God.”

God’s faithfulness does not mean we will never experience tragedy. It means that tragedy does not have the final word.

Sometimes God meets us through Scripture. Sometimes through a worship song. Sometimes through a pastor’s message. And often, He carries us through people who refuse to let us walk through our pain alone.

Perhaps you are facing your own season of uncertainty today. Do not measure God’s faithfulness by the difficulty of your circumstances.
