DAILY REFLECTION
16 July 2026
“This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.”
1 John 5:14
After the sudden passing of my ministry partner on 22 January 2023, I entered one of the most uncertain seasons of my life. Standing at a crossroads, I wrestled with whether to continue or close down Tyrannus Online Seminary. Amid grief and uncertainty, 1 John 5:14 became my lifeline. It reminded me that I could confidently approach God, trusting that He hears every prayer offered according to His will.
Morning after morning, I poured out my heart before the Lord, bringing Him my fears, hopes, and unanswered questions. Through Christ, I knew I had direct access to my Heavenly Father. As I surrendered my plans to Him, He gradually replaced confusion with clarity, anxiety with peace, and despair with renewed hope. Looking back, I can clearly see His faithful hand guiding every step.
This experience transformed my understanding of prayer. Prayer is not merely asking God to fulfil our desires; it is learning to trust His wisdom, submit to His purposes, and rest in His perfect timing. As we seek His will, our hearts become aligned with His, and we discover that His answers are always motivated by His unfailing love.
The same invitation is extended to every believer today. Because of Christ, we can confidently come into God’s presence with every burden, every decision, and every joy. We never have to face life’s uncertainties alone. Our Heavenly Father hears every sincere prayer and responds according to His perfect wisdom.
Today, whatever you are facing, come boldly before God. Entrust your concerns to Him, surrender your will to His, and rest in the assurance that the One who hears your prayers will faithfully accomplish His good and perfect purposes in your life.
“Prayer is not about getting God to fulfil our will; it is about trusting Him until His will becomes our greatest desire.”
