When we fix our eyes on Jesus, even the fiercest battles can become platforms for glory.

This kind of trust is clearly revealed in the life of Jimmy Lai, a Hong Kong Christian businessman and public figure. As the founder of Giordano, Next Digital, and the well-known newspaper Apple Daily, he used his influence to champion freedom of speech and democratic values in Hong Kong - despite facing immense personal and legal adversity. His outspoken stance against oppression and his unwavering advocacy for justice lived courageously in the public square. Even after being arrested in August 2020 under the National Security Law and enduring repeated custody, his resilience stands as a testament to a heart fully yielded to righteousness. His actions reflect a deep conviction that freedom and truth are worth defending - regardless of the cost. His story calls us to stand firm, speak truth, and live boldly for the Lord. 

Philippians 1:20 reminds believers to live with courage, hope, and a Christ-centered perspective - committed to honoring Jesus no matter the cost. It challenges us to shift our focus from self to Christ and to embrace a purpose-driven life grounded in eternal values.
